TWD: Honey Wheat Cookies

This week's TWD was chosen by Michelle of Flourchild and she chose Dorie's Honey Wheat Cookies. These cookies use wheat germ and of course honey.

As a child my parents always kept a jar of wheat germ in the fridge, so when I saw the pick I knew these cookies had to be made. They came together so quick and easy that it seemed like they were store bought....time wise not taste. These cookies have an acquired taste, but I did like them with a little strawberry cream cheese frosting.

You can find the recipe on Michelle's blog or purchase Dorie's book for this and other recipes.

Strawberry cream cheese frosting, huh? Sounds good to me! The cookies look really good and I really like that long dish you have them in.

Not sure how I missed you when I was going through the TWD bakers! Your cookies look fabulous and I think the strawberry cream cheese frosting looks delicious! Love Dorie's book in the background! :)

Cream cheese frosting, cream cheese frosting...NO ONE MENTIONED cream cheese frosting, or I would have been all over that one! They look absolutely sinfully delicious and I am so doing the cream cheese frosting next time! I loved these, they were the perfect match with a cup of tea as the lemon and honey were built right into the cookie. What a deal!
